Durango to Stony Pass Road (“Warm-Up” Hike on the Colorado Trail)

Here are some scenes from my near-hundred-mile hike from Junction Creek Trailhead (Durango) to Stony Pass Rd. outside of Silverton.

On this stretch, I encountered rain, hail, sleet, avalanche debris, and some freezing nighttime temperatures. No matter what the trail throws at you, capturing it is all part of the adventure!

I take in the world at three miles per hour with, as Colin Fletcher hinted, my "house on my back."  It has been said that the "trail is a teacher" and I believe there is a lot to learn out here in God's country.
